I run a mythbuntu 804 FE like this using an nvidia mb gpu. The window 
manager is xcfe and it just starts studd on screen 0 and has screen 1 
with a basic background. I think there is a setting in the window 
manager to enable/disable extending the window manager over screen 1. 
Maybe kde has a similar setting. I had to tweak the script that starts 
the FE (mythbuntu specific I think) to work on screen 1 and there is the 
issue of focus for the remote control when using the arrow buttons but 
in general it works great.
