You can filter the videos in MythVideo to achieve something exactly like 
this. MythVideo has a lot of functionality that simply isn't present or 
in MythNews and would take a great effort to bring it up to the same 
place - even if it was appropriate. Remember - not everyone uses videos 
the way you do, so even if it makes sense for you to do this, everyone 
else seems a bit happier with MythVideo. For instance, I can choose 
which filetypes get played by which player. I can switch from Gallery to 
List view with a couple of buttons. I can use password protected 
categories so my kids only see movies that are appropriate for them. My 
videos aren't lumped in with 30 news feeds since I actually use MythNews 
what it's meant for.

I'm not saying there can't be improvements to MythVideo. I'm saying that 
improving it is the right course of action - not abandoning something 
that's got a few years of dev behind it and does a quite bit more than 
you seem to be using it for.
