XvMC should work fine on any NVidia chip released in the last years. I
use it on a onboard GeForce 6150 (as well as on a 6200 and a 7600).

The error message is pretty good.
1. Follow the Configuration instructions in
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/XvMC. Set /etc/X11/XvMCConfig to:
libXvMCNVIDIA_dynamic.so.1
2. NVidia binary drivers don't like a mix in library versions. So, most
likely you will find conflicts with "Driver : 96.43.05 and 169.12 " on
one machine. If this is the case you will find error messages in your
X.log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log on Fedora).
3. I found that some versions of the NVidia drivers work better with
certain chipsets. E.g. my 6200 stutters with the latest drivers when
using XvMC, but runs silk smooth on 96.43.05. Not sure what the best
version for your 6100 is, but you might want to try with either of your
NVidia driver versions.

I personally find that XvMC is worth the effort getting it right - other
people on this list have expressed that they are perfectly happy running
Myth without XvMC.

Good luck!
