Okay, I've been moseying around the interweb looking for a new
capture card. First, I went to
<http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Category:HDTV_capture_cards>
then, after that, I started scouring TigerDirect/Newegg/Frys
(outpost.com)/BestBuy looking for cards.
I want something relatively cheap (cost, not quality), as I'm
planning on spending under $250 to upgrade my MBE. I want to put a
new HDD and an ATSC card. I would sort-of like to have a hardware SD
encoder available, but that's not a deal breaker, as I've been using
frame-grabbers since 0.17 without any problems (well, other than a
TON of audio issues, but that's another thing)
Currently my system uses a couple of Hauppage BT878 cards (WinTV-Go
Plus) and I really would like to phase those out when I upgrade to
0.21. The hardware is an almost matched set of systems. They are both
Intel 854G boards with P4 processors. One has a 2.4, and the other a
2.8HT. Both have a gig of ram. I have OpenSUSE 10.3 on my second
(SBE) system, and Fedora6 (about to get nuked in favor of SUSE, I
think) on the MBE. I've been a RedHat user since RedHat 5.0, but have
found openSUSE to be much easier to setup/configure.
So, that being said, what kind of cards you suggest?
