Every time I've read about it, with wear leveling,
people have reported failing cf cards after about two
years of use.  I can't point to articles specifically,
but a general search should get some accurate info. 
The response generally is to copy the data or a backup
of it to a replacement unit, and swap it in, simple as
that.
