A GF MX440 works fine. I used one for 1080p for a while. You'll find
that you'll need to disable OpenGL transitions in MythGallery, set Goom
to very low resolution (scaling to the point of pixelization), and
probably have to disable the libvisual/ProjectM visualizations (which
tend to crash, even if you have a system that can use them :). Also,
the menus won't be as "snappy" as they would be with a faster graphics
card (=one with faster memory) because of their sheer size, but it's
quite usable... assuming, that is, you have sufficient CPU and RAM
performance.
I think, though, that you will need to get new HDD's. What's a "huge"
storage array for SDTV is tiny for HDTV (which takes about 2-8 times the
space of SDTV).
