thanks, Mike, I believe your script did it's job. I picked another file 
and it restored the database.

I now have another problem, but I don't think it's got anything to do 
with myconverg_restore.

Anyway, thanks for the handhold, in retrospect, the 0 length file should 
have been obvious to me.
