Hey,

Since a couple of weeks I'm seeing mythfronted behave in ann odd way,
mythfrontend stops responding when selecting a recording to watch, it
will just wait there for a while and then go on as many keystrokes you
press with the remote/keyboard.
When it happens the mythfrontend log says the following:

2008-12-02 22:49:23.673 RemoteFile::openSocket(control socket):
			Could not connect to server "192.168.1.10" @ port 6543
2008-12-02 22:49:26.677 RemoteFile::openSocket(file data socket):
			Could not connect to server "192.168.1.10" @ port 6543
2008-12-02 22:49:27.021 AFD: Opened codec 0x92de230, id(MPEG2VIDEO)
type(Video)
2008-12-02 22:49:27.022 AFD: codec MP2 has 2 channels
2008-12-02 22:49:27.022 AFD: Opened codec 0x958da60, id(MP2) type(Audio)
The last part show it can find the recording again.

The masterbackend is at 192.168.1.5 which is where the recording is
located as well, in the frontend setting I selected to always stream
recordings from the backend(settings >> TV settings >> Playback(1/9)).
Reversing this setting doesn't seem to make a difference either.
The frontend is a combined BE/FE machine set up as slave backend.

This is on Ubuntu 8.10 upgrade from 8.04 with the latest weekly-fixes
from mythbuntu, just after the upgrade it was working just fine.

The weird thing is, there is no one point in time I can say coincides
with this problem starting.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Jos Hoekstra
