hehe, I just ordered two more 500GB drives to add to one of my RAID
array's, but right now I only sit at 1.5TB on the backend (recordings
and such) and will have 2.5TB on the frontend ("permanent" storage).

Of course I live with 4 other people (+ our friends and significant
others...), what *your* excuse for having "way too much storage"? =D
