[mythtv-users] Digital / Analog isolated channel sets

Hi, I apologize for 'double posting' or 'bumping', but
no-one has gotten back to me concerning my question
about digital and analog line-ups, and whether they
can be separated or not. If this is a feature in
Mythtv's svn, I wouldn't know; I'm running a 20.1
version from a gentoo emerge.

Hi everyone, I had posted a question regarding digital
and analog channel line-ups in the mythtv-dev mailing
list, and they referred me to this mailing list for an
answer. So, here's my copy of the question I sent in.
 Thanks for looking

----
Hello everyone,

On my current mythtv setup (latest emerge update from
Gentoo), I get a channel lineup consisting of digital
comcast cable channels intermixed with analog cable
channels. Though my tuner (FusionHDTV 5 RT Gold) can
tune either analog or digital, sometimes switching
between analog and digital will crash the mythtv
frontend. I am wondering if there is a way to isolate
digital and analog channels into sets, so that there
is no way on earth to change between digital and
analog accidentally. Then I could use a button to
switch between the sets.
I apologize if this has been asked before, but
haphazardly changing between analog and digital
produces crashes too frequently to be acceptable
behavior.

Further, if you want log files detailing the crash (if
you haven't documented it yet) let me know so I can
recompile for debugging.

On a side note, I'd just like to know if there's a way
to re-organize my channels. Currently, most digital
channels are located past analog channel 82, however,
local HD broadcasts, like FOX or ABC are at the
beginning of my analog list. For instance, the list
will look like ch2, ch702, ch3, ch 703, ch4, ch5,
ch705, etc. I'd like to know if I can put those 700
series channels with the other digital channels. This
would help prevent me or someone else from switching
between analog and digital too frequently.

Thanks for your time and patience,
Sam

Thanks again,
Sam
