Well, mythbrowser and a keyboard will work for most webmail.
You can force mythbrowser to launch firefox and I'm sure it will work
for nearly all webmail.

I had one other wacky idea that looks like it just might work...

If you can get email as an rss feed, you can READ it with MythNews.
So, off to google, and 3 minutes later I find an "atom" link for gmail.

(question: Does mythnews support atom?)

https://USERNAME:PASSWORD@mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom
( ref: http://forevergeek.com/geek_resources/gmail_rss_feed.php )

So... if you can get webmail with an rss feed... or if mythnews
supports atom... you could READ your email on mythtv with the remote

Here's something from Freshmeat that can take a pop mailbox and make
an rss feed: http://freshmeat.net/projects/conceptrm/

fetchmail+conceptrm could make this happen.

But... would it be better to have a simple IMAP client in mythtv -
maybe with a per-user password entered on keypad and make it simple to
navigate with arrow keys/enter/escape? Maybe smart T9 text input and
virtual keyboard for composing email responses? I don't know...

I think I'll stick with a laptop for email while I watch TV :)
