[mythtv-users] Something is currently using /dev/dsp

Hi when my myth user logs into KDE I get the error message below in the 
mythfrontend output:

2007-02-01 00:57:58.502 Opening OSS audio device '/dev/dsp'.
2007-02-01 00:57:58.502 AudioOutput Error: WARNING: something is 
currently using: /dev/dsp, retrying.
2007-02-01 00:57:58.502 NVP: Disabling Audio, reason is: WARNING: 
something is currently using: /dev/dsp, retrying.

This causes my frontend to not have audio for around 5 minutes and then 
it works fine.  I have nothing odd in my autostart with KDE.  Is KDE 
just being slow to initialize the sound card or is it likely that some 
programs are trying to use it?

I tried using /dev/adsp instead but I cannot get any sound out of that.

Also before at the top of the logs I am getting the following errors 
which may be related:
