I had not used much gmail in the past, but it does not seem to handle
threads nicely.  You can't expand all of a thread and see discussion (like
reading from newsgroups using google).

The gossamer interface is nice for reading, but you can't use it to reply.
And it does not strip the previous quoted comments, but you do get a thread
in one load.

The gmane interface you still have click on each mail to display.

I think I will use gossamer for lurking/reading and gmail for replying....
Decent fit I think.
