What your looking to do will work fine. I'm guessing that you don't have
mythbackend running on your main server and that's ok just mount the NFS
share on your mythbackend system and you should have no problems.

As for the 2 or 3 other myth systems you are looking at setting up. I
beleave you will have better luck installing 2 or 3 tv cards in one
mythfrontend/mythbackend and set the other myth systems to be frontend only
systems.  You can then use much cheaper/older systems for the frontends and
be able to do everything that you wont.
