[mythtv-users] Are PVR-500's safe to buy new right now?

What he is referring to is using the built in tuner for tuning in OTA or
analog cable signals (not using s-video or composite inputs).  There
have been a lot of complaints about the PVR500's having noisy tuners (I
think it is mostly due to the signal splitting causing a lot of loss as
the tuner is the same as the PVR150 and there haven't been complaints
about that).  The amplifier he refers to is a signal amplifier for the
incoming signal.
Since I am on Dish Network, I don't use the onboard tuners, so I can't
comment on that.
