On my Pentium 4 3.0GHz frontend/backend, HD channel switching in Live
TV off FireWire takes three to five seconds from the pushing of the
Enter button on the remote to the new channel starting to play. That's
about how long it took my now honorably-retired Series 1 TiVo to
change (SD) channels.
