[mythtv-users] Sound stutters during dark video

Hi,

I have a frontend/backend dual-role system:
   1.5GHz P4
   512Mb RAM
   NVidia GeForce Fx 5400
   Intel ICH5 AC'97 motherboard audio
   Debian unstable, custom kernel
   MythTV 0.20, installed from binaries
   Hauppauge DVBT PCI card
   Avermedia AverTV USB receiver

When video fades to black, the audio starts to break up. When the dark
interval is over, the stutter goes away. This happens with recorded
matter as well as when watching "live" TV. It doesn't always happen, but
it does seem to be the usual case. The fade doesn't always have to be a
full fade to black - just a period of relatively dark video is sometimes
sufficient. The stutter usually lingers for about a second after the
video has become bright again.

I have no idea whether this is related to one specific receiver, or
whether it happens on both. It seems to me that it didn't always happen,
but I'm not sure when it started. The system started out as a Knoppmyth
system, running MythTV 0.18, and has more-or-less gradually been
transformed into a true Debian system.

Does anyone have any idea what might be behind this?

Thanks,
Jack.
