[mythtv-users] A warning about XFS + LVM + RAID on 2.6.18-1.2200.fc5.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one noticing this problem, but running
2.6.18-1.2200.fc5 with XFS over LVM over RAID, I'm seeing fairly frequent
kernel panics if I'm not careful.

Specifically, it appears that if I run Azureus on my Myth backend,
particularly if I'm pulling down a torrent involving lots of small files, I
get fairly frequent kernel panics, especially if I'm recording at the same
time. Taking Azureus out of the picture seems to stabilize things, so my
guess is it introduces a different usage pattern (lots of seeks and writes
to various locations on disk, rather than regular linear reads/writes) that
triggers some bug in the XFS code.

Of course, if anyone has any thoughts on this, let me know, but I figured
I'd warn people, just in case. :) (In retrospect, I think I should've just
gone with ext3... with the incremental delete feature in Myth 0.20, there
seems little reason not to, and in my experience it's been rock solid).

Brett.
