[mythtv-users] Using media stored on multiple drives withoutLVM?

Someone said you could specify multiple directories to search for photos
using semi-colons (or colons?). Alternatively you can use symlinks because
is scans down the tree (I assume).

Can you do the same or similar with your video storage directory?  That
would save people a ton of trouble, so they can easily grow the amount of
available storage...

Raid and LVM scare me due to added complexity.  I have heard horror stories
about a dead raid controller losing everything.  A dead HD is only 500 or
750 GB these days...

I personally don't care if the wife loses "lost" or "dancing with the stars"
and I have to rebuild.  I do care if I lose the AVIs I ripped from our video
camera.  Those come in at like 12 GB per hour.  Also, I don't want to lose
my ripped CD / DVD collection.  I assume the easy way to do this is build a
second machine with another big honking drive and mirror these static things
over, unless I am missing something.
