[mythtv-users] MythTV 0.18.1 doesn't respond to infrared remote.

I have a MythTV 0.18.1 setup, which the frontend works fine using the 
keyboard.
When I compiled and installed MythTV, it had native LIRC support 
enabled.
I also compiled and installed LIRC 0.7.2, using a custom serial 
transceiver.
I trained the computer with my remote and all the buttons respond when 
using "irw".

Next, I used the documentation for reference and the lircrc.example to 
create my
own ~/.lircrc file. MythTV didn't respond to the remote definitions 
and I noticed
that mythfrontend was complaining it couldn't fine ~/.mythtv/lircrc 
file.
I moved ~/.lircrc to ~/.mythtv/lircrc and mythfrontend stopped 
complaining, but
still does not respond to my using the remote buttons :(

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping it is 
something simple.
