[mythtv-users] Enable LCD leads to segmentation fault

I've got MythTV set up as follows:

CPU: AMD 3800+
Kernel: 2.6.16-1.2111_FC5
lcdproc: 0.4.5
lcd device: SoundGraph iMon IFR/VFD
MythTV: 20060121-2

As soon as I enable the LCD in the front end mythfrontend crashes with a 
segmentation fault and won't start.  To get it working again I had to 
modify the LCDEnable setting in the database manually.  The lcdproc 
client seems to work with this display so what am I missing?
