[mythtv-users] A sound issue - Running backend as normal user the most likely solution?

Here is what is happening:

FC4 / Onboard Sound (intel8x0) / FX 5200 / P4 Celeron 2.4Ghz / 512MB /
PVR-500

Used Jarod's guide (http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php) and used the part
to automatically run the backend and frontend (
http://wilsonet.com/mythtv/fcmyth.php#auto), and ran the script to run it
with root suid - (chmod +s /usr/bin/mythfrontend)). Thing is, the backend
runs as root and the frontend as normal user. I get no sound when I Watch
TV. When I klll both the the front and backend (as root), and re-run both
(as normal user) I get sound. I re-run mythbackend as a normal user to get
sound. If I don't close the backend, and just close the frontend and reload
the frontend, no sound.
