And the guy watching a 2-hour movie (that starts slow but ends with a
bang!) who decides to record the show after watching the first hour and
a quarter ends up saving only the last hour of the show. The first hour
is left as a LiveTV recording and expired tomorrow (after the "LiveTV
recordings Max Age").
So, now someone needs to write a patch to identify that the artificial
break exists. Then both parts of the recording are changed from the
LiveTV recording group. Now, since the recording is "broken" in two,
the guy who wanted the recording writes a message to the ML saying that
LiveTV didn't record his movie correctly and now his recording list is
cluttered up with two entries for the same movie...
So someone says to change the LiveTV breakpoint to 2 hours. Then
someone records a 4-hour sporting event...
So, this is a workaround that's unnecessary because a) if you want to
ensure parts of the current program are autoexpired, you can always exit
and re-enter LiveTV; or b) you can use EXECTV to start up xawtv and
/play TV/ not PVR it.
