The PVR-500 has a problem with certain motherboard chipsets, and will  
cause the machine not to even boot with the card in.  For me, the  
board in question is an Asus A7V880.  If I recall, the issue is with  
the Via chipset on the boards, but I'm not sure.  The problem  
apparently is that the BIOS allocates the same memory space to both  
the PVR-500 and the graphics card.  Luckily I had an A7N8X-E in  
another machine that I could swap out.  This board works just fine.   
AFAIK, this doesn't happen with the PVR-150 and PVR-350 because it's  
the PCI bridge chip that causes the issues.
