The PVR-500 has a problem with certain motherboard chipsets, and will
cause the machine not to even boot with the card in. For me, the
board in question is an Asus A7V880. If I recall, the issue is with
the Via chipset on the boards, but I'm not sure. The problem
apparently is that the BIOS allocates the same memory space to both
the PVR-500 and the graphics card. Luckily I had an A7N8X-E in
another machine that I could swap out. This board works just fine.
AFAIK, this doesn't happen with the PVR-150 and PVR-350 because it's
the PCI bridge chip that causes the issues.
