Mhh, it's the first time ever (that I know off ) that someone posts a message 
on this list saying that mysql crashing is every couple of weeks.  I use 
mysql a lot (mostly on older hardware) and I _never_ had a problem with it.
Are you sure it's not hardware related or something else, outsite mysql ??
