Ok sorry for the kinda repost, but just trying to clear some stuff up now
i've got a better idea of what's happening....
I'm having problems getting the frontend to connect to the backend. It's set
up alright, and I can access music / recorded programs from mythweb /
frontend / nuvexport. But I can't access live tv or any info on listings /
recording schedules.
I don't get any errors about the backend not being connected.
Mythfilldatabase starts and ends with:
2006-06-20 16:19:19.675 Using runtime prefix = /usr

trying to watch tv does this:

It was all working fine a few days ago, then I moved onto a new network,
changed a couple network based settings (but not in myth, like I say it
still works ok with some stuff...). Also, due to kde not falling back on
monitor settings when i changed to one with a lower refresh rate, I had to
manually reset from the case button. Last time I did this I had to rebuild
the mythweb sessions database, but nothing else has ever been affected.
Running a check on the mythconverg database gives:
mythconverg.callsignnetworkmap OK
mythconverg.capturecard OK
mythconverg.cardinput OK
mythconverg.channel OK
mythconverg.codecparams OK
mythconverg.credits OK
mythconverg.dtv_multiplex OK
mythconverg.dtv_privatetypes OK
mythconverg.dvdinput OK
mythconverg.dvdtranscode OK
mythconverg.favorites OK
mythconverg.filemarkup OK
mythconverg.gallerymetadata OK
mythconverg.gamemetadata OK
mythconverg.gameplayers OK
mythconverg.housekeeping OK
mythconverg.inuseprograms OK
mythconverg.jobqueue OK
mythconverg.jumppoints OK
mythconverg.keybindings OK
mythconverg.keyword OK
mythconverg.mamemetadata OK
mythconverg.mamesettings OK
mythconverg.musicmetadata OK
mythconverg.musicplaylist OK
mythconverg.mythlog OK
mythconverg.mythweb_sessions OK
mythconverg.neskeyword OK
mythconverg.nestitle OK
mythconverg.netflix OK
mythconverg.networkiconmap OK
mythconverg.newssites OK
mythconverg.oldfind OK
mythconverg.oldprogram OK
mythconverg.oldrecorded OK
mythconverg.people OK
mythconverg.phonecallhistory OK
mythconverg.phonedirectory OK
mythconverg.pidcache OK
mythconverg.playgroup OK
mythconverg.profilegroups OK
and it hangs there. google'd it and it seems that after profilegroups there
should be a load of program type stuff. so that might be the problem.
If it is, I've got an old backup of mythconverg (well, i hope that's what
the file called "mythtv_backup.sql" i've got somewhere is...). Any ideas if
restoring that would fix stuff, and what would it break? I've got a load of
new recordings that I still wanna access, so will it stop access to them or
what? Any help appreciated...
