[mythtv-users] questions about suspend with ACPI

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to set up my mythbox so it suspends when I'm not using it.

I've got suspend-to-disk (ACPI S4) working using suspend2. suspend-to-RAM
(S3) almost works, except I don't get video output when it comes back up, which obviously isn't much use.
For the record, I have to unload all my TV tuner modules when suspending, otherwise after suspending the tuner appears to tune to channels okay but I don't get a TV picture.

I can also set /proc/acpi/alarm to get the PC to switch on automatically.

The question now is how to set up mythtv to do all this for me. All the instructions I have found only discuss using nvram rather than ACPI.

Also, I use the PC for other things too, so ideally I don't want myth to suspend it whilst I'm using it for other things. I guess I would like it to work along the same lines as the screensaver - i.e. if the mouse and keyboard haven't been touched for a while, allow suspend, otherwise wait and try again later.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to achieve this?

Thanks.
