I was surprised too, but I tried it and t made the issue go away, and
I'm not one to argue when it works and

but with XvMC less data is going to the card, so perhaps less data is
required to reside in the memory? I dunno, I haven't tried XvMC with
it since I'm doing HD and I've never had proper luck with XvMC and HD.

its not really tearing, its a weird effect where theres "lines" about
1/3 the way down the screen.

thanks! I assume I have to run this every time I load X or can I run
it once on boot?
