How can a circular control be pegged (i.e. hue wraps around, so the
difference between 1% and 100% is only 1%). Unfortunately, there's no
standard meaning for, e.g. 90%, so some cards' drivers define 0% as the
default value and others define 50% as the default and ...

You just need to set the value to the appropriate value for your card in
your frontend.

Use an old version of Myth...

http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/commits/205106#205106 says:

This also gets rid of the "UseOutputPictureControls" option. I don't see
any reason why you would ever want to disable picture attributes if your
hardware supports it, and it does no harm to have them enabled if the
hardware does not support them.

In other words, they're always enabled. Your use of the 'F' key to
change playback picture controls proves this... That's the way you
access the Xv picture controls.

All settings in Myth have default values (I think the default for Hue is
0), so you would just be going back to the Myth defaults--which may or
may not be right for your video card.
