Ahhh. But, the "source package" is still 2.6.17.1. That never changes.
What the 2139 or 2141 is reflecting is exactly as I described before --
packaging changes. In the case of the kernel, probably applied patches.
Anyway, this dead horse is thoroughly beaten.
I'd just like to see more point releases made so that everything is
clear to everyone about what's is a given package/release.
