Hi all

It has been a while since I joined the list and have been lurking for
the majority of the time. I will soon be able to upgrade my desktop
machine, so I will have a machine available to run my a MythTV proof of
concept for my wife.

I am after information for building a Myth box in an Australian
environment, given that we have limited viewing possibilities. Currently
we have 2 viewing sources, analog TV in the form of channels ABC, 7, 9,
10 & SBS and Foxtel Digital. The analog signals are from a Digimatch
aerial on the roof with a signal booster. We are in Riverstone, 50 odd
kilometers from Sydney in the Windsor/Richmond area, and receive our
analog signals from Woolongong. Foxtel is fed to up via satellite.

My machine will be an Intel Pentium III I Ghz with 512Mb ram (the
maximum this MB will take), Nvidia GeForce FX5200 with 128Mb ram, 20Gb
HDD as system drive and 200Mb HDD data drive.

My questions are:

What would be the best Australian available capture cards to install to
suit out input sources? I would probably upgrade to free-to-air digital
in this process. I would like to record/view both free-to-air and Foxtel
channels, preferably at the same time (the whole point of building this PVR)

How do I handle the Foxtel stream? Are there any cards available to
control the Foxtel stream?

How about changing channels or such things? What do I need that would be
available in Australia?

That's about it for now, I hope you can help

Cheers
