One of the few models that reliably controls a dish receiver is the
"MyBlaster serial" available over at www.my.tv It has a linux driver which
can be found at http://MyBlaster.sourceforge.net I think it natively
supports that model when used on channel one and has a learning mode if the
standard dishnetwork device type does not work for you. The USB model is not
supported but the serial version runs fine from any linux supported USB
