Looks like you have a bad video card driver or something.  I don't know 
if this would be fatal, though.

This definitely needs fixing.  Make sure you have the ALSA OSS emulation 
modules loaded ( http://alsa.opensrc.org/FAQ011 ) and ensure /dev/mixer 
is the actual name of your mixer device (or a link to it).
