For anyone having problems with the Asus K8N4-E Deluxe, I just noticed
that Asus put out a new Bios update yesterday (well, on 2/14, anyway).
I can't post a direct link to it with how Asus' web site is set up,
but you'll want to go to downloads -> Socket754 -> K8N4-E Deluxe, and
download the file with description "K8N4-E Deluxe beta BIOS
1011.003".

This fixed several problems for me...

- Recent Kernels (FC4 kernels after about 11/1/2005 will now
boot -- before they hung on boot producing the error message
listed in the previous post) now boot.
- I can now use SATA disks
- USB mouse/keyboard now work during Linux Install

I don't know yet if my optical pass through issue is resolved as this
computer is no longer my frontend box. But, once I get a chance to
test this, I'll post again.
