In an SVN revision? I know there was a patch available in April, 
but I didn't think it made it into 7.0 (not in changelog), and 
last I checked (a couple weeks ago) captioning was not yet working 
with the new API.. 

I'm using the in kernel ivtv drivers here and the quality of the 
PVR-500 recordings has increased immensely, but there are still 
way too many denoising artifacts. It sort of looks like an often 
played video tape recorded in ELP mode.

I get CC perfectly using IVTV 0.4.6 on a PVR-150 No SVN required.
