[mythtv-users] Import DVD....what gives?

It has been my experience that a dirty DVD will fail, but if you are
getting this right away, it is probably the encoding that is causing
it to fail.  Have you tried other DVDs?  Most likely its the DVD.  You
could use DVD Shrink via WINE to strip off the encoding, burn a new
DVD and then rip that unencoded DVD, kind of cumbersome, but works.
If it is a dirty DVD, then DVD Shrink would fail as well.  There are
other possiblities, but it depends on the type of DVD you are trying
to rip.
