[mythtv-users] Odds of Linux CableCARD support?

No kidding Warren -- it took Microsoft quite a while to work out it's
CableCard deal. Yet, VWB achieves the same thing, with an Open OS? And does
it without almost no fanfare? Seems odd.

But OTOH why make such an easily disproved claim? Any benefits would be very
short-lived?

Perhaps it's just a stock play -- their stock was up 5% yesterday -- and
another 5% today.

Perhaps they are offering the card without the encryption keys, hoping that
the encryption will be cracked by Linux geeks. But the probablity of
actually going to market with a product intended for illegal purposes seems
very suspect -- especially such a consumer oriented product.

It'll be interesting to see what's going on here.
