[mythtv-users] Making a small avi or mpg out of a boradcast?

I've got an interesting situation...

While out shopping the other day, my wife and daughter were 
videotaped by a local news show.  They ended up on the 11pm 
news.  I was able to record it with Myth (of course), but our 
parents fell asleep before the segment was on.

The segment was only about 5 minutes, but I was hoping to 
send them an e-mail with the video.  I could certainly make a 
video tape of the myth recording and bring it to their house 
the next time I see them, but it would be cool if I could 
somehow e-mail them the clip.

I've marked the entire newscast as a commercial except for 
the segment I'm concerned with.  Is there any easy way to 
do this?

nuvexport, mencoder, some other utility?
