[mythtv-users] Artifacts in DVB TV

TBH, I don't think that's the WSS (Which IIRC is sent in the VBlank),
I think that's the SMTPE timecode from the original source (You should
be able to see the "dots" counting in binary
(00010,00011,00100,00101,00110,00111 etc) which indicate the frame
number and timecode.

I've seen the same thing appearing on some NTSC sources here in
Canada, which makes me think that's what it is.
