[mythtv-users] Not a newbie, need help with sound recording please, wit's end...

Can it be?  I think I finally figured out why there's been no sound in
mythtv from my bt878 card piped through my sound card.  Somewhere in
my gaggle of googles, I came across this command:

(note: my second video card is on /dev/video1)
# /usr/bin/v4lctl -c /dev/video1 volume mute off

I ran this command, and two weeks of struggling with audio disappeared.

Why on earth was my v4l muted in the first place?  Why didn't MythTV
unmute the v4l driver?

Whatever.
