The DVD players that I've owned (all two of them:-) have a setup screen
where it's possible to set the player up for using a 4:3 of a 16:9
screen.
There's sometimes also an option on how to display 16:9 material on a
4:3 screen, with setup for pan&scan, or other options (which I don't
remember right now).
