I know what you mean about the HD-3000. I think drive will be an issue if
you try and keep your kernel up to date. Just barely looking at the
driver and patches it appears to replace the kernel bttv driver. So I
need to know more about this card and driver.

Thanks for the pointer, I had come to this conclusion by looking at the
installed rpm's and seeing duplicates. I may not be able to get rid of
all i386 rpm's because the dmraid package has dependencies on a i386
libdevmapper rpm. Still need to determine whether that is needed with
hardware raid.
