I've played DVD iso images off of an NFS mount using:

xine -pfhq -no-splash dvd://%s/

as the player for .iso files.  Works fine as long as the iso image has
filenames as all caps.  It has been my experience that Xine has issues
playing them when filenames aren't all caps.
