Hmm

Sounds like your box is setup.
Have you thought of  doing a mysqldump on the relevant tables and 
scripting a restore?

If it works why not put it on the wiki at www.mythtv.info?

('cos I for one would give it a try - I've only ever used my s-video, 
not the tuner!)
