Well I had problems getting winmyth to work, heres some of the things
I fixed and got it to work

1 run mythtvsetup or its equivilant on your backend (knoppmyth I know
is mythtv-setup) and make sure that your backend ip is not 127.0.0.1,

2 Then run the dsfilters config and replace the hostname they have for
your mythtv the actual IP of the server

3 actually make sure your mysql server allows for other connections
(typically if it passes the dsfilters config test this is true

4 Open winmyth and find the config window and make sure the settings
match that of your dsfilters (by default it is not and doesnt load any
shows) then close and reopen winmyth

5 upon re-open you should notice that all your files on your backend
should show up, and you can configure the view

**Notes from Use of WinMyth So Far
I dont know if its an issue of how I configured my backend, but when I
have 1 frontend running and streaming a show winmyth does not display
any show information

I am using the divx encoding and if I use the mythtv default 480x480
when I play them back using the dsfilters (via media player classic or
winmyth) the screen is compressed sideways, I found a way to fix this
by choosing a computer screen square encoding size (640x480) this
increases the size of a file slightly, but equal about 1gig an hour at
my quality settings

I think that this has been touched on with just regular front ends,
wireless connection 802.11b cant handle this end, it will play, but if
an error happens the program just flat out stops you have to close the
stream open another stream and switch back, I never seem to get
running longer than 10 minutes without running into an error so
wireless is not possible to run winmyth as far as I know

Otherwise its been usefull
