[mythtv-users] Commercial detection with shutdown and wakeup

Hi,

I recently enabled the shutdown and wakeup options on my mythtv box to
quite down the place at night, lower the electric bill and stuff. I'm using
mythtv .14 with 3 PVR250's, AMD XP 2000, ECS K7S5A, Fedora Core 1, Asus
GeForce4 MX440, 512MB.

It's working great except for a couple things. One it goes into "idle"
even though it's marking commercials and shuts down in the middle of the
detection so many of my shows aren't being marked properly. For a possible
workaround I've set the idle timeout to 20 min. Not sure if the detection gets
done that fast though, we'll find out tonight?

Also I can't find the options that the docs mention about not shutting down
before a client connects, I would like to enable that. And the other option I
can't find is a field to run a script before shutting down so you can do some
custom checks, that would be helpful too.

Well if anyone knows the solutions to these issues then I'd love to hear
them. If it's not fixed in CVS then when I get a chance I'll look into fixing
it as time permits. I just don't want to reinvent the wheel on this one.

Thanks,

Billy

Here is part of the log that shows it going idle right after starting the
commercial detection. I also just noticed that the output from nvram-wakeup
was in the log 6 times in a row, oh well
