AFAIK commercial detection takes show-time x 1.5 on a relatively beefy box.

As far as I can remember the docs were written just a day or 2 after 0.14 got 
out, and were submitted together with a new patch that adds those features. 
It's in CVS, don't know if it waits for commercial detection to finish. The 
patches were written by a European user, commercial detection doesn't work 
here especially well, since we don't have 'black gaps' between programs and 
the commercial.
