[mythtv-users] IR Control of new Myth box

I guess I'm not being clear enough in what I'm asking. I'm not as much concerned about what remote everybody is using, but how you are using _any_ remote with Myth. I'm not sure what IR hardware I need to connect to the computer to use a remote. I looked at lirc.org, and there seem to be quite a few choices, as well as actually building one. The drawings made no sense to me however, so I think that's out of the question.

Hopefully that's more clear. I'm really curious to see if people would post what they are using to see if there is one specific one that is used more.

Thanks,

Michael

I've looked at lirc.org, but there is a ton of information with links literally all over the internet for everything and anything. I'm looking for something specific to Myth, and even more specific, I'm curious to find out what other users of Myth are using. Is it a wide array of different IR hardware, or is it all pretty much the same thing, such as irman or something?

There really isn't a "standard" remote. Lots of folks use the crappy
remotes that came with their capture cards. It's like cars, everyone
has their own sense of what a good one is. If you like that Sony remote
(more importantly if your wife does) then by all means use it. _______________________________________________
