There is indeed a problem with special characters and mythvideo. If you 
have a movie with a é or ë ... in the filename it is added to the 
videometadata table every time you start the video manager. If you 
remove the file and rerun videomanager the video stays in the table.
Removing the file from videomanager ui doesn't work either.

If you post your patch I'll try it out and post feedback. Untill now 
I've always removed all special characters from video filenames to avoid 
trouble.
