In general I would stil recommend using FC1, as there the installation
prcedure is well known and tested in many configurations. DVB in 2.6
is added/remeoved on a per kernel basis. :(

No real need for FC2/kernel 2.6. The vendor kernel already has all you
need. The ATrpms kernel has 8kstacks which was needed for nvidia
drivers (not anymore, the latest works with 4kstacks, as well) and
ivtv (probably the latest experimental packages are also OK).

Not really.

Only if the shipped ALSA (1.0.3) does not satisfy your needs
(e.g. your card is too new).

Make that modprobe.conf.

Hm, DVB cards should output MPEG and xawtv cannot (yet!) process MPEG
(but the upcoming xawtv4 is said to do so :).

Hey, that's 21 steps! ;)
